Lehigh University is a premium research institute in the United States. It was founded in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania by Asa Packer, an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Lehigh University confers degrees through the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Economics, P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science and College of Education. US News places it among the top 50 Universities in the US for Engineering.

Precipitation is distributed throughout the year, with thunderstorms in the summer, showers in spring and fall, and snow in winter. The average high temperature varies widely, from 36 °F (2 °C) in January to 84 °F (29 °C) in July. The highest recorded temperature was 105 °F (41 °C), while the lowest recorded temperature was ?16 °F (?27 °C).
Lehigh University does have an active student-activities scene. The university is known to have distinct traditions of its own, and a lot of other events conducted by the students themselves. The numerous fraternities and sororities, leadership programs, arts and international programs and community service organizations always keep the students preoccupied. Life outside the campus is just as exciting. The inventor of the escalator, Jesse W. Reno, graduated from Lehigh in 1883. Terry Hart ’68, professor of practice in mechanical engineering and mechanics, was an astronaut on the space shuttle Challenger.
